Feeling the pinch a little this Summer and decided not to take a break away? We hear you. The good news is we’re in a city where there is much to do. Here’s Inspire ultimate staycation guide to keep you active and entertained over the coming weekends.

For Water Sports…

Lea Valley Water Rafting:

If you love water sports this is the perfect place to head too. You’ll find gallons of fun at Lee Valley White Water Centre, from white water rafting on the Olympic course to family paddling on our lake. Choose from a range of activities or sit back and watch the action at The Terrace Bar & Café, you’re guaranteed an unforgettable day out at this London 2012 venue.

Stand Up Paddle:

SUPcity is located in Paddington Basin, an incredible inner city location close to Paddington Station. The basin itself is the terminus of the Paddington Arm of the Grand Junction Canal. If you want to go one step further then why not try SUP yoga? (Paddle board yoga) Now that is some serious core strength and a lot of fun!

Kayaking:

Fancy seeing London in a different way? Why not try a London Kayaking trip with this company.

Swimming At Hampstead Heath

Open air swimming is internationally famous on Hampstead Heath with the Bathing Ponds and Parliament Hill Lido. The Ladies and Men's Ponds are the UK's only lifeguarded open water swimming facilities open to the public every day of the year. Make the most whilst the weather is good!

Wakeboarding:

Wakeboarding is a thrilling surface water sport which involves riding a wakeboard over the surface of a body of water. It was developed from a combination of water skiing, snowboarding, and surfing techniques. Wakeupdocklands offers a simple cable towing system with 2 different levels of difficultly - beginner, intermediate and advanced.

Brixton Beach

Before each film DJs play film-inspired sets, while you tuck into picnics or treats from our food stalls, and on selected nights there will be live introductions from familiar faces.

Want to learn to fly? Trapeze school We run a mixture of drop in classes and courses, the more classes you take the more advanced tricks you can perform! If you truly are addicted to flying you may be able to join our weekly frequent flyer and intermediate classes.

For Outdoor Activities…

Go Ape:

Situated on the south bank of the River Thames opposite Chelsea, Go Ape Battersea takes a new twist on our classic Tree Top Adventure. Incorporating some of the park’s taller trees, our city experience includes knee-knocking crossings that are double the height of most Go Ape adventures, and many are twice as long, making them extra wobbly and challenging. Situated in the heart of London you are never far from something to explore making it the perfect whole day out.

Hyde Park Horse Riding:

Rotten Row in London's Hyde Park, has been the most famous equestrian venue in England for 300 years. We ride horses in Hyde Park and beside The Serpentine lake, in the most beautiful setting for horse riding in a capital city anywhere in the world. Hyde Park was also used as a London 2012 Olympic venue.
