What are your 3 non-negotiables when it comes to health?
  1. WAKE UP EARLY: there is something really empowering about waking up early and getting out of the house when it is still dark outside. It’s my absolute favorite time of the day and it’s the time when I reflect and think about what I want my life to be
  2. PUSH YOURSELF: there is little time to workout when you work demanding hours and there is even less time when you have a baby at home, I get it. However, there is always 30mn-1hr of most days where you can train. Train less, but train harder. That class you did yesterday, do you remember it? If not, something has to change
  3. UNWIND: Ben and I have a rule that we do not use phones, computers or any other digital screens in our bedroom so that we can unwind and talk before bed, and it always feels incredible when we stick to it!
What are your favourite breakfasts?
  1. PRE WORKOUT: everyday. Hot water and a smoothie (Rude health almond milk, Sun warrior vanilla whey protein & frozen banana, sometimes oats)
  2. POST WORKOUT: oat milk latte (I am obsessed!) & eggs with all the greens (spinach, broccoli, avo, pak choi, you name it)
  3. WEEKEND: croissant & coffee, do I really need to say more?! There is a French boulangerie on the Northcote road called “Les Merveilles de Fred.” Just go.
What is your holiday workout regime?

I cannot stay inactive for more than a few days, so I always pack trainers, leggings and sports bras and I always exercise first thing in the morning. Working out is a core part of my life, it does not stop when I go on holiday, quite the opposite as I want to feel amazing and have fun so I want to move even more! When on holiday I love to explore and experiment with other sports that I don’t usually do at home. I love to ski, hike, swim & paddle but I also like running and doing a quick WOD, anything that can get the blood flowing, the heart beating & the sweat dripping. Next year I want to learn to surf!

What's your best strategy to stay motivated?

I always wish there was more time in the day as there is something incredibly satisfying about feeling that you have achieved a lot. If you want to be successful in your job, and also on a personal level, you need to put the hours in. You can have both, but you need to wake up early! Appreciate the early-morning stillness, get out, do something you love, workout, refuel, do your emails. By 9am, you feel on top of the world.

The best thing we can do for ourselves is.....

Sleep (although to be honest, I have always felt that sleeping was a total waste of time - but it's not!)

When on holiday how do you balance pleasure with routine in relation to food?

When I'm on holiday, I eat the same way as when I am at home other than a bit more of eating out and drinking wine (I only drink Burgundy though, where I am from).

What are your 3 favourite healthy snacks?

Always savoury over sweet snacks. I am obsessed with the green olives from Barley & Sage, almonds, peppers and hummus & again, oat milk latte!

What's your number one tip for how to stay motivated?
Figure out a way to be better at anything you do.
Is there a certain dietary regime you follow? What changes have you seen or felt since you have started this?

I love food and I exercise a lot, so I tend to eat nutritious and whole foods but still eat what I love. I don’t eat much sugar at all and I stay away from all the “healthy raw, GF, DF deserts” trending on IG as they never taste like a crêpe with homemade apricot jam #yesplease!

I listen to my body and stop eating when I feel full. I also drink warm water throughout the day. I have never felt as good in my body as I feel now having had Inès 4 months ago, and I think it has a lot to do with how I eat as opposed to what I eat. Since I have been on maternity leave I find that I am taking the time to sit down and share meals with people I love more regularly, and being less stressed in general has made a world of difference to my digestion and energy.

What are your top tips for how to keep your energy up?

Get involved and surround yourself with people who are driven. If you put passion & commitment into everything you do, if you have skin in the game, you will be buzzing!

What's the one health tip you wish everyone would do?

Just remember: “There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way” – Thich Nhat Hanh
