With Summer fast approaching and holidays on everyone’s minds, we wanted to share our top destination picks, boasting a whole range of activities and sure to please even the fussiest travel companions. So whether you’re looking for a vacation near or far, we’ve got you covered. This is one size fits all travel.
If you’re looking for a city break weekend as the weather is starting to improve, look no further than northwestern Wales. A quick four-hour drive or train ride from London gets you to some of the most breathtaking natural beauty you can experience in the UK. Accommodations-wise, I would look into AirBnB-ing. There are no five-star hotels in Snowdonia but there are some gorgeous country homes available to rent. Whether you’d prefer to be by the beach or in the mountains, Snowdonia is perfect for those who want to hike or hill-walk, boat or sea kayak or just relax in beautiful nature and take in the views.
INSPIRE top recommendation: Hike to the peak of Snowdon.
For those who are keen to travel a little farther (and step a little more out of your comfort zone), we recommend the Verdon Gorge in south-eastern France. Named one of Europe’s most beautiful river canyons, the Verdon Gorge is an area rife with activity and popular amongst rock climbers, hikers and paddlers. There are a ton of accommodation options in the area, from traditional rural establishments to luxury hotels and if delicious food and wine in incredible surroundings is more your style then, rest assured, you will not be disappointed.
INSPIRE top recommendation: Go multi-pitch rock climbing.
And for a real adventure, we think you should consider San Francisco, California! If you want more of a city-meets-nature vibe, San Fran is absolutely perfect. The whole Bay Area is stunning and you have all the outdoor activities available alongside the cultural options of a metropolitan city. Some of the best sushi in the world alongside skiing, surfing and hiking. What more could you ask for?
INSPIRE top recommendation: Urban hike to the top of Filbert Street or have a picnic in Alamo Square with the backdrop of the Painted Ladies. Explore the trails of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
