How we start our mornings is important. We’re slightly dehydrated, insulin sensitive and in a highly receptive state because the body has just had an overnight fast.
This shot gives you a little bit of everything and is the perfect way to give your body the boost it needs in the winter. Does it taste good? No comment. But oddly, it’s one of those things you come to love that doesn’t necessarily taste great but makes you feel great (kinda like tequila…)
Upon rising, have about 200 mls of water. Make your tonic and drink. Here’s the important part. You’ll want to wait at least 2 hours before breakfast AND coffee/tea. Try this 4 mornings a week for 2 weeks and see how you feel.
I use a blender or nutribullet but you can just stir together if you don’t have one (or are short on patience!). It won’t combine fully, but you can whisk it to a certain extent and then just go for it. Follow it with a glass of water.
If you find the turmeric too strong, you can work your way up. Start with 1tsp and work up to 1 tbsp by end of the second week.
