How to drink for results

From strength & recovery to mood & hormones, smoothies can pack in a lot of bang for your buck. The new Energy Kitchen is up, so here's a quick who's who from the new categories to help find the perfect blend for you.

If you’re looking for something to boost your MOOD….

Mood is a tricky thing. It’s easily influenced to spike both up and down, but to keep it on an up it’s essential to have enough essential fatty acids, antioxidants & amino acids as a foundation.

  • For anxiety & blood sugar swings: Berry Bomb. With an added boost of Vitamin D & B12, this beauty helps hormonal regulation, helps regulate the metabolism and can balance appetite.
  • For the feel-good factor: The big breakfast smoothie. The oats in this one are a great source of magnesium, the destress vitamin that also masquerades as a muscle relaxant so perfect for post spin.

If you’re looking for strength & recovery….

The key to building strength is recovery. Your post workout window is the perfect time to replace muscle glycogen, supply the body with the building blocks it needs for protein synthesis and if you want to go one step further, makes lots of rich anti-inflammatory vitamins available. Once you’ve had those things, you can boost your smoothie in other ways as well.

  • For hormones: No Resistance. Maca, or Peruvian ginseng, is an adaptogen known for hormonal balance, energy & stress relief.
  • For a fruit-free boost: Pure Protein. If you’re watching your fruit
but need a protein boost. Add a tsp of spirulina if you’re feeling virtuous.

If you’re looking for something GREEN….

Learning to love your green drink may seem like a (very strange) pipe dream, but here’s the thing. The more green you go, the more green you crave. Drinking greens is an amazing way to get all the essentials like B12, vitamin C, magnesium, potassium, calcium and a whole host of phytonutrients down in one go. Spinach and algaes like spirulina and E3are in all our green shakes, but if you’re new you can work your way in easily with the Easy Green.

  • For detox: Greenhouse is packed with a double serving of greens and spirulina, great for phase 1 detox of the liver, chelating heavy metals and energy production.
  • For Inflammation: Urban Detox (loaded with cayenne & ginger), Coco Colada (rich in the enzyme bromelain).
